Update: Main Onshore Pipeline works starting at Picton Lane (from 23 February 2026)
Liverpool Bay CCS Limited has advised that the next stage of construction will begin on the Main Onshore Pipeline in our area.
Their Engineering, Procurement and Construction contractor, United Infrastructure (UI), is starting preparatory works to support an auger boring programme. This includes:

Setting up temporary construction compounds at points along the pipeline route

Digging “launch” and “reception” pits to a safe planned depth

These pits are the entry and exit points for the auger boring works

They allow safe access for equipment installation, excavation of material, and ongoing monitoring

Once the preparatory works are complete, the site will be handed over to specialist subcontractor Joseph Gallagher Limited (JGL), who will carry out the auger boring.
