The council has a broad responsibility to provide local facilities and raise funds from what is known as the ‘Precept’ which is levied against each council tax payer on what was the old ‘Rates’ system. It is the duty of the Finance Committee to bring to the council a proposal for consideration by the full council to accept; modify, or reject.
It is a balance between providing local parish needs and services but keeping costs down for residents. The budget includes spending for upkeep of the Springfield play park; the Village Hall, provision of car park, defibrillator, Clerks remuneration, and many more services. Click on link below.
